Difficult excursion at high altitude among alpine lakes.

    From Madonna di Campiglio reach “Patascoss” area

    From the Patascoss parking, after a dozens of meters on the street to “Malga Ritorto”, turn right and go up along the dirt street. At the end of the street you find “Pancugolo” refuge, near the arrival of “5 Laghi” cableway (you can reach the refuge also taking directly the cableway starting from the centre of Madonna di Campiglio).Catch the flat path, starting behind the refuge, till “Ritorto” lake (you can reach the lake also starting from “Ritorto” refuge, following “Cantoni di Ritorto” itinerary).From the lake go up northbound following the path, reach “Ritorto” pass, go on along ups and downs among stones, avoiding the detour to “Nambino” lake, and reach “Lambin” lake. Go up the slope overhanging “Nambino” valley and go down till reaching “Serodoli” lake. From the lake mouth go up, going past the bivouac, and reach the “Gelato” lake. Come back to “Serodoli” lake, go down to the small “Nero” lake and turn left at the folk, following the path n° 266 in the direction of “Busa dei Cavai”. From here go down following some wide bends till to “Nambino” lake and the refuge. Near the mouth of the lake take the flat path on the right till the starting point in “Patascoss”.

Mountaineering boots, hat, windbreakers and sun lotion are highly recommended.

Tips for the tour

Famous route along the slopes of the Presanella mountain. The route, even if  easy and popular,  requires a good physical training.People are required to bring their own drinks: there are not refreshment points for long stretches of the itinerary. Considering the lenght of the route, we suggest to leave early in the morning.

Public transportation: Trentino Trasporti (www.ttesercizio.it) bus service operates daily direct and local connections to Pinzolo and Madonna di Campiglio.  In auto: on the A4 Milan-Venice, take the Brescia Est exit at km 130.  Average travel time from exit (by car): 2 hours and 30 minutes. on the A22 Modena-Brennero, take the Rovereto Sud exit at km 92 (1 hour and 40 minutes), or the Trento Sud exit at km 73 (1 hour and 30 minutes), or the S. Michele all’Adige exit at km 78 (1 hour).   Driving from Pinzolo: don't enter Madonna di Campiglio but take the tunnel in the direction of Campo Carlo Magno and turn left at about 150 mt after the tunnel exit.  If you want go up till Pancugolo by cableway: enter Madonna di Campiglio south and park in Piazza Sissi paid parking, near the 5Lake cableway.
Pay and display parking in Patascoss area, a few meters from the starting point of the route.

In summer shuttle bus from the centre of Madonna di Campiglio (Brenta Alta square) up to Patascoss (from June to September). Check the summer transport timetables and rates or take the brochure in the tourist office in Pradalago street, 4.
