High-level hikes
From Pordoi Pass at 2,239 m take the cable-car to Sass Pordoi (2,948 m) and then go downhill on path no. 627A to the Forcella Pordoi (2,829 m; 20 mins). Now keep going towards the central plateau (path no. 627). Leave path no. 627 and take no. 638 when you come to it. This path takes you up to the top of the Piz Boè mountain without too much difficulty also thanks to metallic ropes placed all long the uphill. You will reach the Capanna Piz Fassa refuge (3,152 m) where you can get refreshments (1 hour 15; 1 hour 35). Now go down the north-west side of the mountain. There is a short rocky section which is equipped with a metal safety cord and wodden stairs and then you reach the Boè refuge (2,871 m) (30 mins; 2 hrs 05). To get back to the Forcella Pordoi you now cut across the base of the Piz Boè on path no. 627 (45 mins; 2 hrs 50). Now climb back up to the cable-car station at Sass Pordoi (20 mins; 3 hrs 10) (path no. 627A).

    From Canazei you reach Pordoi Pass by car (parking is near the valley cableway station). From the pass you go up to Sass Pordoi (2,950 m) by cableway.
    From the Piz Boè refuge (3,152 m) you return to Sass Pordoi along the same route. The descent is by cableway.

Main access points  to Val di Fassa, coming from the A22, Modena-Brennero motorway: - Ora / Egna exit, S.S. 48 delle Dolomiti - San Lugano Pass - Val di Fiemme - Val di Fassa (distance 45 km). At the roundabout in Moena, follow the direction of Canazei upwards; - Bolzano Nord exit, S.S. 241 Grande Strada delle Dolomiti - Carezza Pass -Vigo di Fassa (distance 40 km). From Vigo follow direction Canazei upwards or the direction Soraga di Fassa and Moena downwards; Other accesses to the Val di Fassa: - from the A27 motorway (Venice), Belluno / Ponte nelle Alpi exit, then take S.S. 203 to Agordo and S.P. 346 to San Pellegrino Pass - Moena (Val di Fassa). At the roundabout in Moena, follow the direction of Canazei upwards; - from the A27 motorway (Venice), exit Belluno / Ponte nelle Alpi, S.S. 203 to Agordo / Alleghe / Rocca Pietore first and S.P.641 to Fedaia Pass - Canazei; - coming from Arabba, S.S.48 Pordoi Pass - Canazei; - from Val Gardena, S.S.242 Passo Sella - Canazei.
Parking is near the valley cableway station.
