AVS shelter hut Oberetteshütte

AVS mountain hut in the midst of the remote Matschertal Valley mountain world, at the foot of the mighty Weißkugel mountain and the five Saldur Lakes. Honest cuisine with regional products, meat exclusively from our Highland cattle.
We have been managing this mountain hut at the valley head of the Matschertal Valley with our three children and our parents since 2010. In 2016, the Matschertal Valley was declared the first Mountain Climber Village in South Tyrol and has devoted itself to gentle and quiet tourism. The mountain hut offers mainly produce from the farmers in the valley and the local area, much of this is organically produced. The cuisine fits in with the natural and seasonal conditions. In the autumn, there are game, cabbage, pumpkins, during summer fruit and herbs. The location of the hut is the ideal starting point for the classical tour of the Saldur Lakes and ascent of the Weißkugel of 3,739 m. We welcome hikers, mountain climbers and families and take pleasure in hosting everyone. Alpine competency and information on the situation in the mountains is self-evident.
