Located at 950 meters in the center of Santo Stefano in Val Pusteria, in the immediate vicinity of the ski area of Plan de Corones, the farm restaurant Messnerhof welcomes you warmly in its typical atmosphere. In summer you can dine on the large tables on the outdoor terrace and enjoy the panoramic view of the entire chain of the Venosta Alps and the Zillertal. In winter, the characteristic indoor "stube", made of period wood and obtained from the old stalls, are the ideal place to enjoy a cosy dinner.
Sit back and enjoy the traditional South Tyrolean cuisine: local specialities include Tyrolean ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta cheese served with melted butter and a sprinkling of chives, green gnocchi with cream and ham, Milanese cutlet with sauteed potatoes, various types of "Knödel", and also the variant pressed on a bed of sauerkraut, shank with potatoes or peasant barley soup. Every Saturday, the inn serves a Pustertal speciality par excellence: the "Erdäpflattlan" with sauerkraut - a traditional South Tyrolean potato speciality. All the recipes served are made with ingredients from the farm's own production and local farms. Be sure to try homemade cakes such as "Krapfen", which are still made according to grandma's recipe.
During the autumn months, the trattoria is a meeting place for the "Törggelen", and on this occasion various delicious dishes are added to the menu: a warm soup is followed by tasty cheese and spinach dumplings, various appetizers and, finally, the hearty "Schlachtplatte". For dessert you can enjoy the "Keschtn", roasted chestnuts, not to mention a glass of grape must!
