About Tarres Alp
Intensely flavoured aromatic cheeses from the Laces-Martello holiday region
The high mountain environment of the Venosta Valley has always been associated with pastures and dairies. Since medieval times, butter and cheese have been produced in the pastures. Even today, dairy products such as natural butter, yogurt, cottage cheese and cream are still made there, particularly Alpine cheese and local specialties such as "Graukas". At the annual South Tyrolean cheese taste at Burgusio in the "Fürstenburg", the cheese from of the Tarres alp ranked 2nd from the audience assessment and at the assessment of the jury the cheese reached "very well".
Approach
With the car or the pubblic transports from Laces to the valley station from the chairlift of Tarres. From there with the chairlift to the mountain station. From there you need ca. 10 minutes to the Tarres alp.
